In our previous blog post, we shared our cover shoot with Deux Hommes for their Korea Issue, which was recently released a few weeks ago. Yet inside the issue, we also had the opportunity to photograph a fashion story inspired by the infamous work of Hyewon Shin Yunbok. Hyewon was an infamous painter of the Joseon Dynasty known for his unique technique and depiction of daily life. Yet, it was controversial glimpses of eroticism within his canvases that left a lasting impression. In many ways, he was an artist ahead of his time. With this preface in mind, the concept was to evoke a sense of subtlety and feminine sensuality within a frame characterized by negative space. It was an incredibly interactive shoot and we all had the chance to watch as the set literally morphed from season to season, bare branches to blossoms.
