In New York City, we all love to attend a good party, but it's a whole other ordeal when you're in charge of throwing one! Planning our studio opening has been on the "to-do" list since the first day we laid foot inside the space. I think in many ways the studio opening party became a manifestation of our hopes, aspirations, and dreams for the studio. It was an event to celebrate all the hard work that brought about this first step and the possibilities to come.
Over the past few months, we've been building a guest list, hiring catering, ordering flowers, rearranging the space, and figuring out how to present the work. Of course calendar pages quickly turned by, and all of a sudden the official day was here. As anxiety producing as it was waiting for guests to arrive, once the music turned on, names checked in, and conversation began I felt a sense of ease. There's nothing like spending an evening with good food, wine, and conversation between people. I recognized how special this moment was to have all those who have impacted my career and life gather together in unison. The sense of support and camaraderie was touching. I couldn't help but feel motivated in continuing to pursue this path I have chosen in starting Creative Shin Studio. My deepest thanks to everyone who attended the studio opening and all those who have dedicated time and energy to the studio over these past few months, your kindness is immeasurable.
